Title of biome: Tundra
Introduction: There are two types of tundra in the world, Arctic and Alpine. The Arctic tundra is at the top of the world around the North Pole. And the top of tall cold mountains are alpine tundras.
Definition:
A Tundra is a Vast treeless plain in the arctic regions where the subsoil is permanently frozen.
Tundra is a biome where the tree growth is hindered by low tmperatures and short growing seasons.

Biotic Factors (animals, plants, algae, etc. living things):
Plants:
Some of the major plants in the Tundra are lichen which grows on rocks and is made of fungus and algae growing together.
Other types of vegetation are dwarf willows that are small tundra shrubs that grow in low tight clumps to protect them from cold.
The summers in the tundras are short and in the winter the weather can reach -50 degrees fahrenheit.
This biome recieves less than 10 inches of rain fall a year.
The soil in the summer is very soggy because of the permafrost.
The soil in the tundra is covered in permafrost which prevents the drainage of excess moisture. Which causes the trees and plants have a hard time growing. The growing season is short and last up to 60 days
Additional Info. (any famous landmarks, famous types of your biome ex- Sahara Desert, anything well-known in biome, how is biodiversity, etc. make it interesting!!)
Tundra Facts:
In the summer the sun shines all the time 24/7.
The North and South poles were not always so cold the moving of tectonic plates and the cooling and warming of the earth have caused the cold conditions.
In the arctic as the sea freezes the salt rises to the top of the ocean as crystals called ice flowers.
The only tree that can grow in the tundra is the dwarf willow and it grows to a maximum of 4 inches tall.

The Most famous type of tundra would probably have to be the North and South pole those are the most commonly known around the world.
